POONCH, Mar 24: Continuing with its reach-out programme to athletes, J&K Sports Council distributed the sports kits among the trainees of Khelo India Centres of Poonch in the disciplines of Football, Volleyball and Badminton here today.
The athletes received brand new sports training kits during a function held at Sports Stadium Poonch. Khelo Indian centre trainees were accompanied by their respective mentors including Richa Sharma (Volleyball), Ameet Singh (Football) and Owais Din (Badminton). All the necessary measures including the authenticity of the credentials including checking of NSRS ID verification were carried out.
Pawan Kumar ( PEL, Hockey Coach, Fitness Trainer BCCI NCA JKCA) was the chief guest on the occasion while Mustaq Ahmed Sr. Boxing Caoch Manager Indoor Complex Poonch was Guest of Honour and Rajinder Singh (PEM & Football Coach) was the special guest. Prominent among others present were Narinder Singh PEM, Perviaz Ahmed and Narinder Singh PEM.
Earlier, Nirdosh Kumar, Incharge Manager Sports Stadium Poonch welcomed all the guest and players and briefed them about the function.
While speaking on the occasion, the chief guest applauded the efforts of JKSC under the dynamic leadership of Nuzhat Gul, Secretary Sports Council for providing platform and necessary assistance to trainees. He also advised the players to work hard and achieve desired results at National and International Level of competitions. He also thanked Majid Yousaf Chief Nodal Officer Khelo India J&K UT for uplifting sports under Khelo India scheme across J&K UT.
