Sports Council to take up age relaxation issue of deceased billiards marker’s wife with Speaker, CM

JAMMU, July 4: Moving ahead to provide succor to the wife of the deceased billiards marker, who died last year due to electric current while taking bath at MA Stadium Jammu, J&K State Sports Council has decided to take up the age relaxation issue of deceased billiards marker’s wife with Speaker Kavinder Gupta and Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti.
In a telephonic conversation with the EXCELSIOR, Shiv Kumar Sharma, Joint Secretary, J&K State Sports Council and President, J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association said that the deceased billiards marker’s wife is not eligible for the job under SRO-43 as she is over-aged.
However, on the humanitarian ground, the Council is providing a financial aid of Rs 5,000 through Welfare Fund to the wife of the deceased billiard marker Surjeet Singh Baloria, an employee of J&K State Sports Council, resident of Mullowan Sarthal, Kishtwar, who received an electric shock and died on spot while taking bath near his quarter at MA Stadium, on June 22 last year, but it is for a period of two years only, Sharma said.
This quality marker and a dedicated worker is survived by his wife and two children and the Council had written to the Government to provide job to his wife under SRO-43.
As his wife is over-aged, Government had sought suggestions for the job to any other family member, but unfortunately, the deceased’s family is having no one to join the job except deceased’s wife, Sharma said, adding that apart from Rs 5,000 being provided as financial assistance to the family by Sports Council, he will also pay Rs 2,000 per month as financial assistance to the family to meet their daily needs.
“I will also bear additional expenses for studies and sports of the deceased billiard marker’s children”, Sharma added.
Regarding job to billiard marker’s wife, Sharma said that this case needs age-relaxation and only the Speaker Kavinder Gupta and the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti can grant age-relaxation, adding that Sports Council will meet the Speaker and the Chief Minister to take up the issue with them.
“Deceased billiards marker’s wife can avail job the under SRO-43 in a period of three years and one year has already passed away. The Council will soon meet the Speaker and the Chief Minister so as to ensure the Government job for her so that she can meet the daily needs of the family vis-à-vis provide proper and quality education to her children”, he stated.
