RAJOURI, Sept 17: Govt Degree College (GDC) Thannamandi organised a Sports event as a part of Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan, here today.
The event was held by the Department of Physical Education & Sports, GDC Thannamandi in collaboration with IQAC of the College, wherein Table Tennis and Kabaddi matches were organised to channelize the energy of youth towards sports and games.
Dr Imtiaz Ahmed, SDPO Thannamandi graced the occasion as chief guest of the event. He was received by NSS volunteers and NCC cadets of the College by presenting a bouquet.
The chief guest inaugurated the event in presence of the Principal Dr Farooq Ahmed, staff and students of the College. The inaugural ceremony of the match was started after the welcome address by Dr Ather Aziz Raina, Head of Department of Mathematics/ Applied Mathematics who also coordinated the programme, followed by an inaugural Table Tennis match between the chief guest and Dr Ather Aziz Raina which was won by chief guest Dr Imtiaz Ahmed.
