SRINAGAR, July 23: Advisor to Governor Farooq Ahmad Khan today met the young athletes of the State who have participated in various sports events at international and national level.
The Advisor lauded the sportspersons for bringing laurels to the State in various competitions and termed them as icons of the State.
The Advisor said that taking part in sports imbibe team spirit and discipline which is a must for the progress and prosperity of any society. He said sports activities teach unity and play an important role in inculcating spirit of hard work and dedication.
He said that various measures are being taken to promote sports in the State to channelize the energy of youth towards positive and creating activities.
Later, Khan distributed certificates and mementoes among the young athletes and the coaches who have trained them.
