JAMMU, Mar 14: The 2-days Sports Meet for Physically challenged students concluded at Green Field Gandhi Nagar, here today .
Navin Agarwal, Director General Youth Services & Sports was the chief guest on the occasion while Haji Mirza Hussain, Deputy Director was the guest of honour.
On the occasion, colourful cultural programmes were presented by students of Govt. Girls HSS Shastri Nagar and Dewan Devi Public School Shakti Nagar, Jammu.
The Sports meet was organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports as a part of annual calendar of sports activates under the patronage of Mr Agarwal.
While addressing the gathering, Sh. Navin Agrarwal said that such type of tournaments be given equal importance like other games as they prove key tool for building confidence among the physically challenged students for shaping their personalities.
Later-on, the Director General distributed prizes among the players.
Earlier Sh. Rishi Kumar  Dy. Director Youth Services & Sports Jammu  presented welcome address.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were Rupinder Jeet Kour, A D Youth Services and Sports Jammu, Sukhdev Raj Sharma, District Youth Services & Sports Officer Jammu and Abdul Rehman Shagan, Accounts Officer Directorate of Sports.
In Tug of War Under-17 girls, L.B.M School beat Samaj Kalyan Kendra in the final by 2-0 sets, while in
Tug of War Under-17 boys, Samaj Kalyan Kendra  drubbed Sahyog India in the final by 2-0 sets.
In Blind Under-14 girls 50 Mtrs, Rishika , Mehak & Rupal of L.B.M secured 1st ,2nd and 3rd places respectively, while in Deaf & Dumb  Girls  Under-14 50 Mtrs, Shakti Devi of Samaj Kalyan Kendra, Suman of GHS Treva and Nidhi Sharma of Samaj Kalyan Kendra secured 1st ,2nd and 3rd place respectively.
In Deaf & Dumb  Under-14  50 Mtrs boys, Aness Ahmed of  Samaj Kalyan Kendra,Nitesh Sharma of Sehyog India and Anshish Sharma of Samaj Kalya Kendra secured 1st ,2nd and 3rd place respectively, while in Deaf & Dumb  Boys  Under-14 100 Mtrs, Anil Singh of  Samaj Kalyan Kendra, Nikhil  Nagra  of Sankalp Gandhi Nagar and Ankush Blind School Roop Nagar  secured 1st ,2nd and 3rd place respectively
In Deaf & Dumb  Under-14 Shot Put boys, Arshit Chouhan  of Sankalp Gandhi Nagar Ritiesh Singh of Samaj Kalyan Kendra and Hari Shanker of Samaj Kalyan Kendra secured 1st ,2nd and 3rd place respectively.
Vishal Khajuria , Vijay Kumar & Rohit Sharma secured 1st ,2nd and 3rd place respectively in Deaf & Dumb  Under-17 boys  200 mtrs, while in Handicapped  Under-17 boys 100 mtrs, Amit Kumar, Jaspreet Singh and Chaman  of Sahyog India secured 1st ,2nd and 3rd places respectively.
