Srinagar emerges overall winner in Inter-District Cross Country

SRINAGAR, Apr 29: Srinagar emerged winner by bagging 10 positions with 2 gold, 2 silver and 6 positions among top 10 in Inter-District Cross Country Race, which was organized by Joint Directorate Youth Services and Sports, Kashmir.
The race was flagged off by DDC Srinagar Dr Farooq Ahmad Lone.
The Race started from Nursing Home Gupkar road Srinagar at 6 am and passed through CM Residence, Oberio Gate, Centeur Hotel, Cheshma Shahi crossing and culminated at famous heritage Nishat Garden.
Ten districts of Kashmir division with 150 athletes participated in the event.
The closing ceremony was held at Nishat Garden and medals were distributed among winners by DDC Srinagar.
The race was distributed into three age groups U-14, U-17 and U-19 boys.
In the Under-14 Boys category, gold, silver and bronze medals were won by Shahid of Srinagar, Basharat of Srinagar and Rayees of Budgam, while other seven positions were won by Ganderbal, Srinagar, Budgam, Bandipora and Kulgam. In the Under-17 boys category gold, silver and bronze medals were won by Umer of Budgam,Shoib of Ganderbal and Sikander of Shopian while other seven positions were won by Pulwama, Srinagar, Shopian, Budgam and Anantnag.
In U-19 boys category, gold, silver and bronze medals were won by Yawar of Shopian, Umer of Srinagar, Adil of Srinagar while the other positions were won by Kupwara, Srinagar, Shopian, Anantnag and Baramulla.
