JAMMU, Dec 6: The Jammu and Kashmir unit of Shiv Sena (SS) has questioned the opening of Open Air Gymnasia by the Jammu Municipal Corporation in every Ward of Jammu city without appointing trainers and caretakers by terming it as a sheer waste of public money.
Dozens of Shiv Sainiks led by the Party unit president, Manish Sahni today staged a protest demonstration outside the JMC office and demanded expert trainers in the said Gymnasia.
He alleged that more than 50 Gyms have been opened in Jammu so far, while 25 more are being opened that too without any expert trainer. “Setting up of a Gym without the appointment of a trainer and caretaker is a waste of public money which should be stopped immediately,” he said.
He further said that the Corona SOPs are being openly violated in these Open Air Gymnasia and the same is quite dangerous in the prevailing scenario.
Sahni made an appeal to Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha to look into the matter and appoint trainers and caretakers at all the JMC established Open Air Gyms.
The Shiv Sainiks also submitted a memorandum in this regard to the JMC Commissioner.
