JAMMU, Oct 24: Shiv Sena Bal Sahib Thackrey, J&K Unit today reiterated its demand for dissolution of the Legislative Assembly.
The demand was made by the party State president Dimpy Kohli at a press conference here, today.
Kohli said “over a month has passed since the fall of the BJP-PDP Government and imposition of Governor’s rule in the State but keeping the Assembly in suspended animation is against the mandate of the Constitution and existing precedents.”
“The prolonged suspension of the State Assembly is illegal which defied all the precedents, constitutional provisions and plethora of judgments passed by the courts in the past,” he said.
Kohli accused the BJP of holding the Constitution hostage through proxy for its unethical political interests.
He said that members of suspended Assembly are not entitled to exercise powers and privileges which are available in case of regular Assembly and hence can’t exercise financial powers to release the CDF grants.
