NEW DELHI, June 16: The 20th Battalion Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) Sitamarhi has rescued 11 children and apprehended three human traffickers in two different operations, the Central Armed Force said here today.
The first operation was led by 2nd-in-Command Santosh Kumar, who rescued six children (three Nepalese and three Indian) and apprehended a trafficker from Bairgania Railway Station in Sitamarhi district of Bihar yesterday.
Simultaneously in another operation led by HBK Singh, Commandant 20th Bn rescued five children (one Nepalese and four Indian) and apprehended two traffickers (Indian) from Sitamarhi railway station.
The rescued children in both Anti-human trafficking operations were being taken to Mumbai by Karambhoomi express train for child labour in plastic bag and garment factories.
The Human traffickers have been handed over to GRP Sitamarhi and a FIR has also been lodged, whereas the rescued children were handed over to Childline NGO. (UNI)
