SSI unit holders project issues before Navin Choudhary

JAMMU, Aug 21: Association of Micro and Small Scale Industries (AMSSI) called on Principal Secretary, Industries and Commerce and took up industrial issues with him in detail.
A delegation of Association led by its president Harbinder Singh, along with Ajay Jagotra, Darshan Lal, Raminder Paul Singh ,and Shantanu Gupta met Navin Choudhary and discussed their issues.
During meeting Harbinder Singh mentioned that the State Government has an industrial policy that offers attractive incentives along with the single-window clearance mechanism. The cost of setting up operations is comparatively lower than other States. He requested that land should be allotted to the local entrepreneurs at a concessional rate of Rs 2 lakh / kanal upto 2 kanal. He also requested the State Government should look at developing industrial clusters in Jammu region to support the micro industry. The industrial clusters shall give price and purchase preference to the micro industry to sustain.
Harbinder stated that It was in connection with the Amnesty scheme for industrialists, small industries and sick industries in the State Government’s Budget Announcement 2018-2019 exemption from interest, fines and sub charges on the areas of the State Government. PDD is charging interest on interest and cutting electricity connection of micro industries and forcing it to shut down or to become sick unit. He requested that the demand charges and interest should be waived off.
He further requested that the micro industry should be kept out of SARFAESI Act. As per Government of India, if due to any reason the micro industry is unable to sustain, the Government should look at supporting the micro industry rather than start penalizing the same. He also requested that there are several pending payments for material purchased by the Government departments, which have not been issued to the micro enterprises over the last 2-3 years due to which many micro industries suffer. Payment should be issued to the micro enterprises at the earliest so that they do not suffer any more and the future tuition enable streamlined.
