JAMMU, June 2: Saraswati Sangeet Kala Mandir (SSKM) organized a cultural programme at K L Saigal Hall in the memory of its founder Late Dr J R Sharma, under the guidance of Ravi Sharma, an approved Santoor player and music composer.
Padam Shree Balwant Thakur, Regional Director, ICCR Jammu was the chief guest while Additional Secretary J&K Academy of Arts Culture and Languages Dr Arvinder Singh Amn was the guest of honour. The programme started with Dogri and Hindi Bollywood songs.
A Vidai Geet was performed by Shashi Sharma whose lyrics and music was composed by Ravi Sharma which was followed by Hindi Bolllywood song “Mustrane Ki Wajah Tum Ho” by Music Curve Band. A Dogri folk dance “Sun Tohlla Bankeya” was performed by Binbdiya, Sneha, Payal, Diksha, Khushbu, Ruchika, Razia and Geetanjli which was choreographed by Rakesh Kona and music composed by Ravi Sharma. A Hindi song ‘Tere Biun Sunee Laage’ was sung by Shivani Mishra which was composed by Ravi Sharma. A group song “Yeh Rasta Hai Na Smaj” was sung by Anjali, Sunandani, Disha, Aleen, Heena, Poonam, Kamaldeep Singh, Navjot Singh, Kamran Aejaz and Keshav Gupta.
The artists who accompanied the programme were Kamal Sharma, Rakesh Anand, Darbari Lal, Vicky Gill, Vijay Anand, Amit Anand, Vikash Naagar, Rajat, Shashi Sharma, Rohit Sharma, Anil Tikku and Rajni Sharma (Anchor person), Vishal Singh, Dheeraj Mattu, Robin Kumaar, Amit Sharma, Ramit Sharma, Parvinder Singh, Richard Teji, Abhishek, Amarjet Singh and Deepak Malhotra.
A few days back Saraswati Sanget Kala Mandir had organised a musical programme at Abhinav Theatre by an opening performance of Saptak Band. After that performance based on Raag Khamaj was performed by Bhumika Arya, Sanvi Anand, Umika Sharma, Nadiya Slathia, Arushi Tulli, Pranvi Khajuria, Khushi Yadav, Sanchita Dubey, Anubhav, Harshit Sharma, Sahisa and Sahiba Gupta.
