SSM Engineering College storms into finals

JAMMU, Dec 4: In the on going 10th Prof Yousuf  Memorial Cricket Cup, being played at Islamia College of Science and Commerce, Srinagar, the 2nd  semifinal match was played between Alumni Islamia College team and SSM Engineering College Parihaspora Pattan, here today.
The toss was won by Alumni ICS, who elected to field first.
SSM Engineering College, batting first, scored 143 runs in 19.2 overs.
For SSM College, Junaid and Kamran Jalal contributed 49 and 33 runs in 32 and 28 deliveries.
For Alumni Islamia College, Faizan and Mehfooz took 5 and 3 wickets respectively.
Chasing a stiff target of 144 runs, Alumni Islamia College bundled out for 114 runs in 17.2 overs.
SSM Engineering College defeated Alumni Islamia College by 29 runs and booked their place in the final match of the Cricket Cup 2015.
For Alumni Islamia College, Mohsin Ramzan and Suhail contributed 32 and 18 runs respectively. For SSM Engineering College, Wajid claimed 4 important wickets, while Junaid picked 2 wickets. Junaid was awarded man of the match for his brilliant all-round performance.
The dates for the final match of the tournament will be notified separately which will be played between Islamia College, Hawal and   SSM Engineering College, Parihaspora, Pattan.
The Inter-Collegiate Cricket Tournament is being organised by the Department of Physical Education, Islamia College of Science and Commerce, Srinagar in the memory of Ex-Principal Prof. Mohammad Yousuf, who has contributed a lot towards the development of College infrastructure in general and Physical Education and Sports in particular.
