KATHUA, Oct 11: Police is investigating the veracity of a threatening letter received by the Higher Secondary School Gujru Nagrota in Billawar tehsil of district Kathua few days back asking the school administration to close the institute for two months or face consequences.
SSP Kathua, Mohan Lal who visited the area to review the security situation said an anonymous letter in Hindi was received by School administration threatening the staff to close the School for two months.
He said the police is investigating the case. Besides, all precautionary measures have been taken to avert any untoward incident, he added.
The SSP said he also visited the Sukhrala Mata to review security measures there in view of the ongoing Navratra festival as a large number of devotees are visiting the holy temple.
He said there is nothing to panic as police is investigating the matter. Police is working on various theories and can’t rule out that the letter can be a handiwork of some mischief mongers also. However the residents of the area have demanded beefing up of security in the area as well as in the School.
