RAJOURI, Mar 26: With the objective of harnessing the talent of youth in sports and strengthening the Police-Public relations in the area, District Police Rajouri is organizing Volleyball Tournament at District Police Lines Rajouri under ‘Civic Action Programme 2015-16.
A total 8 teams from different parts of Rajouri District are participating in the tournament.
The Tournament was inaugurated by Sr. Superintendent of Rajouri, Rajeshwar Singh in presence of Additional SP Rajouri, Tahir Saleem Khan, DySP Operations, Iftkar Ahmed, DySP DAR, Kewal Krishan and other Civil and Police Officers/ Officials.
The Inaugural match was played between Manjakote team and Thanamandi team in which Thanamandi team defeated Manjakote by (2-0) sets.
Speaking on the occasion, SSP Rajouri, Rajeshwar Singh said that J&K Police is organizing this tournament under Civic Action Programme to groom local talent and to keep the youth away from the drugs, liquor and allied evils.
Civil Society Members of Rajouri have applauded the effort of District Police Rajouri in organizing such events under Civic Action Programme.
