SSPF Football Tournament of Kathua, Samba Cluster concludes

KATHUA, Dec 23: SSPF Football Talent Search Tournament concluded  in Kathua and Samba Clusters today.
From Kathua Cluster, APS Janglot won third consecutive match against Infant Jesus School (3-0) to top the Cluster where as SIS were awarded a walkover, as KPS Kathua failed to appear for their last match here at Hiranagar Stadium.
As a result, SIS were tied with Infant Jesus at second spot but later qualified for the knockout stage on goal difference. The host team of SIS was applauded by everyone in public for their effort and quality of game in their first ever competitive appearance.
SDM and Tehsildar, Hiranagar were present on the occasion to watch and enjoy the game and congratulated the organisers and hosts SIS for encouraging the game of football in the area by conducting such events at Hiranagar.
Samba cluster today saw the ouster of K.V Samba and Arvind Gosh School, Vijaypur as J.K Public School won all its matches to top the cluster with hosts  MV International securing the second spot to qualify for next knockout stage where they will fight it against the qualifiers from Kathua cluster in January, 2016. Principal and Director of host school, MV International, graced the occasion with their presence and announced that school will always lead in hosting such competitions in future also which intend to benefit the students and players of the region. The combined team of the selected talented kids from Kathua and Samba will eventually play against talent from Jammu district later in January, 2016.
Matches were officiated by Gagan Deep, Sachin Khajuria, Hardhik Pathania and Palwinder Singh under the supervision of cluster coordinators – Satnam Singh and Dil Bahadur Gurung, District Coordinator- Arun Paul Singh Jasrotia and State Coordinator – Iqbal Singh.
On this final day today, SSPF District Coordinator, Arun Paul Singh Jasrotia also announced the opening of a Grassroot Level Football Academy by JKFA recognised Param Football Club at Hiranagar in few days, where both boys and girls in the age group of 6-12 years will get coaching in football.
