JAMMU, Oct 11: Defeating their rivals convincingly in the semifinals, Stadium XI and Army Public School (APS), Akhnoor have made it to the finals of the 2nd Senior Women Hockey Tournament, being organized by Hockey J&K and sponsored by J&K State Sports Council at KK Hakhu Astroturf Stadium, here.
Now, the winners will face each other in the finals to be played at the same venue.
Earlier, in the first semifinals, Stadium XI defeated APS Miran Sahib by four goals to nil (4-0) in a one-sided affair. For Stadium XI, Pinki Devi scored the first goal in 10th minute and the second goal was scored by Gargi in the 15th minute, which was followed by back to back goals by Jagjeet Kour in 35th and 46th minutes respectively.
In another semifinal, APS Akhnoor drubbed GCW Parade by three goals to nil (3-0) in an easy contest. For APS Akhnoor, Archana was the star performer, who netted 2 goals in 12th and 25th minute of the match, while another goal was scored by Priya in 18th minute.
Jaswant Singh, senior vice president of Hockey J&K was the chief guest in the first match, while Romal Singh, general secretary of Hockey J&K was the chief guest in the second match.
The match was officiated by Jagjeet Singh, Jagjeet Singh Reen, MS Reen and GS Bakshi.
