Stadium XI Senior, Satyam XI register wins; advance to next round

KATHUA, Apr 7: Stadium XI Senior and Satyam XI thrashed their opponents in their respective matches and advanced to the next round of the ongoing Tawi Premier League T-20 Cricket Tournament, being organized by Tawi Organizing Committee in collaboration with Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP) at sports stadium here today.
In the first match of the day, Stadium XI trounced RCC Chandwan by 8 runs in a keenly contested match.
Put to bat first, Stadium XI scored 138 runs for all out in stipulated 20 overs. Nishant played well and made 30 runs including 4 balls towards the fence, whereas Ricky also showed his batting talent and chipped in 29 runs including one ball towards the fence and one ball over the fence.
For RCC side, Suman was the pick of the bowler with 2 wickets by conceiving just 11 runs in his three over spell.
While batting, RCC Chandwan tried their level best to clinch the match but failed and lost the match by just 8 runs in allotted 20 overs. Bantu was the top scorer with 34 runs including five boundaries, while Harry contributed 21 runs including three balls towards the fence.
For Stadium XI side, skipper Himanshu was the wrecker-in-chief who scalped 4 wickets.
Himanshu was declared as man of the match.
In the second match, Satyam XI registered 9 wickets win over Krishna Cricket Club and sailed into the next round of the tournament.
Electing to bat first, after winning the toss Krishna Cricket Club scored 103 runs for all out in allotted 20 overs. Sahil scored 20 runs, while Subash made 17 runs.
For Satyam XI Side, Aman picked one wicket.
In the second inning, Satyam XI playing well achieved the target in just 6.2 overs by losing just one wicket during the process. Aman played well and chipped in some crispy shots in his 52 runs contribution in 23 balls including 8 boundaries and 2 lofty sixes, while Mandeep scored 32 runs in just 15 balls including 2 balls towards the fence and 3 sixes.
Aman was declared as the man of the match for his all round performance.
In tomorrow’s fixture, Engineer XI will clash with Billawar XI, whereas, Kashmir Cricket Club will take on Mayank Goswany Cricket Academy.
