JAMMU, Apr 13: Star Cricket Club and NMCC scripted convincing victories over their rivals in the ongoing Jammu and Kashmir Premier League T20 Cricket Tournament, being organized by Tawi Sports Club, under the supervision of organizing secretary, Shashi Paul at GGM Science College Hostel ground, here.
In the first match, Star Cricket Club defeated I-Tec New Star by 22 runs. Batting first, Star Club scored 135 runs in 20 overs. Ashwani top scored with 22 runs, while Mohit and Abhishek contributed 18 and 10 runs respectively. For I-Tec, Sumesh bagged 4 wickets, while Vinod and Abhishek claimed 2 wickets each.
In reply, I-Tec managed to score 113 runs in 16 overs, thus lost the match by 22 runs. Karandeep top scored with 27 runs, while Ankush and Vipin contributed 15 runs each. For Star Cricket Club, Sunny took 3 wickets, while Ishan and Rajat claimed 2 wickets each. Ashwani was declared as man of the match.
In another match, NMCC outplayed JKP XI by 6 wickets. JKP XI scored 110 runs in 20 overs by losing 9 wickets. Rajesh Gill top scored with 35 runs, while Amit and Shiva chipped in with 16 and 13 runs respectively. Vishu was pick of the bowlers for NMCC, who captured 4 important wickets, while Yodha, Rajveer and Shera claimed one wicket each.
In reply, NMCC scored 113 runs in 10 overs by losing 4 wickets, thus won the match by 6 wickets. Vishiu and Bobby scored 38 and 34 runs respectively. Sahil and Aman bagged 2 wickets each for JKP XI.
In tomorrow’s fixture, Jammu Cricket Club will take on Nagrota Cricket Club at 12:15 pm.
