Star Cricket Club sails to next round

JAMMU, Apr 22: Star Cricket Club, Satwari registered 21 runs victory over Eleven Star Cricket Club, Simble Camp and sailed into the next round of the ongoing Baisakhi Premier League T-20 Cricket Tournament, being organised by Diamond Cricket Club at Government Boys High School, Simble Camp.
Electing to bat first, after winning the toss, Star Cricket Club chipped in 114 runs for all out in allotted 20 overs. Sahil and Gora were the top scorer with 28 runs each, while Bakshi, Manjeet and Varinder scored 18, 13 and 12 runs respectively.
For Eleven Star Cricket Club side, Parvinder was the wrecker-in-chief, who scalped 4 wickets, while Prince also proved his mantle and scalped 4 wickets. Pinto took 2 wickets.
In the second inning, Eleven Star Cricket Club failed to chase the pace of Star Cricket Club bowlers and bundled out at 93 runs for all out in stipulated 20 overs. Kala chipped in 21 runs, while Sandeep and Iqbal also made 20 and 12 runs respectively.
For Star Cricket Club side, Manjeet and Gora scalped 2 wickets each, while Sahil took one wicket.
Gora of Star Cricket Club was declared as man of the match for his all-round performance.
The match was officiated by Kulbir and Harcharan Bablu as umpires, while Jimmy maintained the scorecard.
The tournament is being organised under the overall supervision of GS Michael, sports secretary.
