SRINAGAR, Oct 19: India won gold medal in the Senior Baseball Presidential Cup, 2015 recently held at Azadi Stadium, Tehran in Iran.
The State players namely Altaf Hussain Bhat and Muhammad Mubashir Ali were part of the Indian team and showed excellent performance during the tournament.
The team created history in Indian Baseball by winning 1st ever gold medal for the Country.
The medallists accompanied by Fida Hussain Fidvi were welcomed here at Council Secretariat by Jawaid Ahmad Shah, Secretary J&K State Sports Council, who lauded the efforts of the players for this achievement.
Meanwhile, MM Gazanfar, president JKBA felicitated the Indian contingent especially State baseball players for this achievement.
Mr Fidvi who is also the general secretary of J&K Baseball Association was appointed as head of the Indian delegation to the said tour to Tehran, Iran by the Amateur Baseball Federation of India.
Those who were present on the occasion Chief Sports Officer Haji, Abdul Qayoom, Mushtaq Ahmad and Nuzhat Ara.
