JAMMU, Dec 5: J&K Gymnasts proved their mettle again at national level after winning 32 medals including 13 gold, 12 silver and 7 bronze during 22nd National Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships held at Fatehgarh Sahib, Punjab.
In Under 8 category, J&K team comprising of Diya Rajput, Sneha Dewan, Manu Balowria and Rajjata Sharma won bronze medal in Individual apparatus finals. In Free hand event Sneha Dewan of J&K won gold medal whereas Sanyukta and Kriti of Maharashtra claimed silver and bronze respectively. In Ball event, Anvesha of Delhi won gold, Sneha of J&K won Silver and Visha of Punjab claimed bronze. In Rope event, Kriti Dhami of Punjab won gold, whereas, Manu Balowria and Diya Rajput of J&K won silver and bronze medals respectively. In Hoop event, Sanyukta Kale and Kimaya of Maharashtra claimed Gold and silver medals respectively, while, Rajjata Sharma of J&K secured bronze medal.
In Under 10 category, gold medal was claimed by Maharashtra, while, silver medal was secured by Punjab. J&K team comprising of Tawishi Singh, Nandini Lakhotra, Satuti Sharma and Maithli Meghul secured bronze medal. In Hoop event, Tawishi Singh of J&K won gold, whereas Nandini of J&K and Vanshika of Punjab claimed silver and bronze medals respectively. In Rope event, Tawishi Singh of J&K won gold, Manmeet Kour of Punjab got silver and Anushka of Maharashtra bagged bronze.
In Juniors category, Maharashtra team won gold medal, J&K team comprising of Mridul Gupta, Mansha Gupta, Anchal Khikher and Anmol Kour won silver medal and Punjab team secured bronze medal. Mridul Gupta was adjudged as 2nd best gymnast for winning one gold , 3 silver and 2 bronze medals. Disha Nidre and Aditi of Maharashtra won gold and bronze respectively in the Individual Apparatus finals, whereas, Mridul Gupta of J&K won gold in Ribbon event whereas silver and bronze medals were claimed by Disha Nidre and Aditi of Maharashtra. In Hoop event, Disha of Maharashtra won gold, while, Mridul and Muskan of Punjab bagged silver and bronze medals. In Club event, Disha of Maharashtra won Gold, while Mridul and Muskan secured silver and bronze medals. In Ball event, Aditi of Maharashtra won gold, while, Disha of Maharashtra and Mridul claimed silver and bronze medals respectively.
In Sub Juniors, J&K team comprising of Pawandeep Kour, Mehak Chettri, Ghazal Suri and Dhawani Sharma bagged gold medal, whereas, Maharashtra and Punjab team secured silver and bronze medals respectively. In the Individual All around finals Pawandeep Kour bagged gold, Nemmat Sabbarwal of Punjab won silver and Simran Pathak of Maharashtra got bronze. In the apparatus finals of Ball event, Pawandeep won gold, Neemat of Punjab claimed silver and Sajal of Maharashtra took bronze. In free hand, Pawandeep and Mehak Chettri won gold and silver medals respectively, while, Nemmat Sabbarwal of Punjab claimed bronze medal. In Hoop event, Pawandeep won gold, whereas, Sajal and Mayuri of Maharashtra won silver and bronze. In Rope event, Pawandeep won gold, where as silver and bronze medals went to Purnoor and Neemat of Punjab respectively.
In Seniors, J&K Gymnastics team comprising of Mitali, Palak Kour, Natasha Sharma and Epsita won silver medals in the team championship, whereas, in Hoop event, Mitali, Prabhjot and Anita Ramola of Punjab respectively bagged gold, silver and bronze medals respectively. In Ribbon event, Mitali bagged gold whereas Prabhjot of Punjab and Palak Kour secured silver and bronze medals respectively. In Clubs event, Mitali won gold, Prabhjot of Punjab got silver and Madhura of Maharashtra secured bronze. In Ball event, Prabhjot of Punjab won gold, Mitali claimed silver and Nishtha Shah of Maharashtra secured bronze. In All round finals Prabhjot won gold, Mitali secured silver and Madhura of Maharashtra got bronze.
Patron in Chief of J&K Gymnastics Association Dr Farooq Abdullah congratulated the winners for their great achievements.
