State Hockey team flagged off for Senior Nationals

JAMMU, Apr 2: Minister of State for Public Works, R&B and Revenue, Sunil Kumar Sharma today flagged off the Men’s State Senior Hockey team for participation in 5th Men’s Hockey India Senior National Championship being held in Pune this month.
The team was flagged off from K K Hakhu Astroturf Hockey Stadium, here.
While according a warm send off to the players and the team management, the Minister said that the players from the State are talented enough and the team will work hard and take full advantage of the opportunity to get into the international level.
He wished best of luck to the team and expressed the hope that they will prove their mettle and bring laurels to the State.
On the occasion, the Minister also distributed sports kits among the players.
The Minister congratulated Hockey J&K and its working president S M Sahai on being informed that Hockey J&K is hosting 5th Sub- Junior Hockey India National Championship at Jammu in the month of May this year. He assured the association of full support.
Among others the flag off ceremony was attended by IGP Mukesh Singh, vice president Hockey J&K, SSP Kulbir Singh, Romal Singh, general secretary, Rajinder, treasurer Hockey J&K, G S Bakshi, secretary, Kuldeep Handoo, Member J&K Sports Council, Rajan Sharma, Divisional Sports Officer and manager KK Hakhu stadium, Imran Iqbal, Sports coordinator and other office bearers of Hockey J&K.
