State Indian Style Wrestling team leaves for Gorakhpur

JAMMU, Feb 27: The 7-member wrestling team of Jammu and Kashmir left for Gorakhpur in Uttar Pradesh to take part in the All India Invitational Indian Style Wrestling Championship and Mahan Bharat Kesari Title 2013 to be held there from February 28, 2013.
The wrestlers were selected during a selection trials cum screening conducted by J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association at MA Stadium Jammu, under the overall supervision of its president Shiv Kumar Sharma in presence of Sports Officer, J&K State Sports Council, Ravi Singh and Manager Choudhary Salamat.
The Team: Sachin Kumar of Samba (51 kg), Shami of Jammu (55 kg), Rohit Kumar of Jammu (60 kg), Aniyat Ali of Jammu (66 kg), Rakesh Kumar of Jammu (74 kg), Gopal Sharma of Jammu (84 kg) and Sujjan Ali of Jammu (96 kg).
Mulkh Raj Sharma NIS Wrestling Coach is accompanying the team as coach, while Prem Kumar is team manager and Bansi Lal Tidyal is technical official.
J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association members who were present on the occasion included Rakesh Khajuria, general secretary of the Asociation and RR Sharma, treasurer.
Meanwhile, president J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association, Shiv Kumar Sharma announced cash incentive of Rs 31,000 for winner of gold, Rs 21000 for silver and Rs 11000 for bronze medals during the championship.
