JAMMU, Mar 22: The State Information Commission has adopted its own logo with symbolic message of accountability, transparency and empowerment of people in Jammu and Kashmir.
The logo has been designed by prominent artist and cartoonist Chander Shekhar of Jammu, who was given a cash prize of Rs 30 thousand for the same.
The logo was formally released by the Chief Information Commissioner G R Sofi in the presence of Information Commissioner Prof S K Sharma, here today.
“As a statutory body under the J&K RTI Act 2009, the Commission has adopted a logo which was selected by a committee of art experts after inviting entries from within and outside the State,” informed Mr Sofi while talking to media persons.
He added that seven entries were short listed and the Expert Committee finally selected the entry of Chander Shekhar.
Pertinent to mention here that the State Information was so far using the logo of J&K Government since it came into existence in October 2009.
