JAMMU, Mar 22: The State Junior Fencing team comprising of 28 members was selected today by the screening committee of J&K State Sports Council for the participation in 21st Junior National Fencing Championship to be held at Raipur in Chhatisgarh from March 28 to March 31, 2014.
Rajan Sharma, Divisional Sports Officer; Rashid Ahmed, International Fencer and Member of Sports Council; Shotu Lal Sharma, Fencing Coach were present during the screening of the team.
The team is leaving on March 25, 2014 with Ajay Khartol and Monika Sharma accompanying the team as coach and manager respectively.
Sabre team boys: Vishal Thappar (Captain), Javed Ahmed, Koushal Sharma and Amit Manhas.
Foil team boys: Tariq Ahmed, Mohd Ismail, Mohd Tariq and Soujanaya Chib.
Epee team boys: Pankaj Sharma, Ravi Sharma, Rajan and Shubham Sharma.
Sabre team girls: Priya Khajuria, Mansi Sapolia, Harpreet Kour and Jaspreet Kaur.
Foil team girls: Anchal Dogra, Kayal Kumari and Priyanka Thappa.
Epee team: Anchal Gupta, Diksha Pandey and Rupali Sharma.
