JAMMU, Dec 22: The Jammu and Kashmir Tug-of-War Association under the presidentship of Hardeep Singh Anand has selected teams to participate in the 27th Senior National and 12th Senior Federation Cup National Championships to be held at St. Paul’s Higher Secondary School, Salem in Tamil Nadu from December 26 to December 30, 2014.
The teams departed for the event, here this evening.
Earlier, the teams were selected by S Hardeep Singh Anand, president of the Association; Ravinder Singh Sasan, general secretary and Jodh Singh Isher, joint secretary, under the supervision of J&K State Sports Council Screening Committee Members at Green Field Ground, Gandhi Nagar, here. The members from Council apart from others included Rajan Sharma, Divisional Sports Officer, Jammu.
Mr Anand , president of the Association distributed kits among the players before their departure which were sponsored by Anand Farms, a Unit of Trans Asia Hotels Private Limited.
The selected players for the 27th Senior National team included Sourav Chopra, Amandeep, Arun, Ishan, Rahul, Sachin, Amit, Aga Bhasit and Aga Tayeed, while for 12th Senior Federation Cup, the team included Gourav Dubey, Narinder, Sunil, Sourabh, Ajay, Parveen, Maneer, Touseef and Showkat.
Ajay Kumar and Tarsem Singh are accompanying the teams as coaches.
