State Wushu Championship commences

JAMMU, Mar 27: 3-day 10th  J&K State Wushu Championship got underway at Indoor Hall, MA Stadium, here today.
450 players drawn from 15 districts of the State are taking part in the Championship.
The Championship was inaugurated by Kuldeep Handoo, National Wushu coach and general secretary of Wushu Association of J&K.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Handoo informed that 4 players of J&K in senior division have been selected for National Wushu Coaching Camp to be held at SAI Bhopal from April 5, 2014.
Meanwhile, in sub-junior girls below-32 kg, Shivani of Samba claimed gold, Amanpreet of Jammu bagged silver and Xena of Jammu clinched bronze medal, while in sub-junior boys Under-7 years, Chaitna, Manik, Saksham and Nitin (all from BSF) claimed gold, silver and bronze medals respectively.
In sub-junior girls below-45 kg, Roopali of Samba bagged gold, Falak Shabir of Srinagar got silver, while Mansi of Samba and Varsha of Udhampur claimed bronze medals.
