Stolen cash, gold ornaments recovered, thief arrested

JAMMU, Apr 23: Satwari police today solved a burglary case by recovering the stolen property and arresting the thief.
According to a police spokesman, on April 20, one Rafiq son of Lal Din, a resident of Jawahar Nagar, Jammu lodged a written complaint in police station Satwari that on April 19 an amount of Rs 70,000 along with gold ornaments were stolen from his house.
He said on his complaint, a case FIR No 64 under Section 380 RPC was registered at police station Satwari and the investigation was started by a special team headed by SHO police station Satwari, Inspector Manjit Singh, under the directions of SSP Jammu, Dr Sunil Gupta.
The spokesman said that the team rounded up several suspects of the area and also analyzed the call details of the suspects. He said during investigation one Rohit son of Bittu, a resident of Shanti Nagar, Kunjwani, Jammu, was also rounded up and put to sustained interrogation after which accused confessed his involvement into the crime.
“The accused was arrested and on his disclosure, a cash amount of Rs 70,000 and gold ornaments worth Rs one lakh and a mobile phone were recovered”, the spokesman said, adding the arrest was made by ASI Mohd Akram and Inspector Manjeet Singh, under the close supervision of SDPO South, Sachin Gupta and SP South, Shahzad Salalria.
