JAMMU, Dec 23: Senior Congress leader and former Minister Gharu Ram today asked the party workers to strengthen the party at grass root level.
He said this while addressing meeting of Congress party workers at Suchetgarh block, tehsil RS Pura.
He asked the participants to thwart the nefarious designs of unscrupulous persons, who are trying to befool people by saying that they will get the mandate for the forthcoming Assembly elections from the high commands.
The fact is that party high command has not given any mandate or never said this to anyone, he said, adding that people should not pay heed to such rumors.
He asked the participants to give befitting reply to his opponents in the forthcoming elections, as no developmental works have been undertaken except the works done during his tenure.
