JAMMU : Highlighting the need of holding student festivals, Minister for Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Choudhary Zulfkar Ali today said student fests provide a platform to the youth to bring out their hidden talents.
The Minister said this during a two-day business tech fest “Spardha 2K17” organized by Jamwal Group of Educational Institutions, here at Patoli Brahmana.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said present age is the age of “versatility”, where a person needs to be “multi-talented”. It is the student festivals which help us to find out hidden talent present within our youth.
Highlighting the importance of the platform, the Minister said the festivals like these provide us the much-needed platform and an opportunity to express ourselves, and our talents to our fellow students and friends. He added that these festivals have served as the first platform to many great orators, artists, and lecturers’ world over.
The Minster also stressed the need to increase the literacy rate in the State and said that with fast growing economic status of many states in India, it is only the increase in our literacy rate which can help J&K to take lead in the socio-economic development.
Speaking about digitalization, the Minister said India is fast moving towards “digital revolution”, and the credit for this goes to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who has taken a pledge to digitalize the entire country by 2019. “Now it is the responsibility of every citizen to help the PM in realizing this dream,” the Minister said.
Zulfkar Ali said “digitalization” should be seen as a “social cause” which would help to make the system transparent. The transparent system would put a stop on the menace of corruption, which in turn would help in building a strong nation, the Minister added.
Urging students to have a clear vision about their future, Zulfkar said it is important that students from early age are aware of what they want to achieve in their lives. He said college time is considered as the best time where a student gets a better understanding about various things happening around, and it helps the student to make a wise decisions.
