SRINAGAR, Dec 26: Twenty three students have been asked to leave the college as the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) is yet to decide whether these students are eligible for Prime Minister’s Special Scholarship Scheme (PMSSS) or not.
These students were enrolled for 4-years B. Pharmacy course at Shekhawati College of Pharmacy, Dundlod in district Jhunjhunu in Rajasthan under PMSSS on September 25, 2012, but till date scholarship was not disbursed in their names.
After their non-payment of fees and hostel expenses, the college authorities have asked all the 23 students either submit their fee or leave the college.
“We were admitted in the college on 25th September last year but no disbursement on scholarship was made by MHRD, so the college authorities have asked us to leave the college,” Mohammad Umar Farooq of Drugmulla, Kupwara, one of a students enrolled in the college under PMSSS.

The students said at the time of admission the computer operator has mistakenly mentioned the date of admission as 15/10/2012, where as their original admission date was 25/09/2012.
“On account of these 20 days delay we have been declared not eligible for the scholarship,” they said.
The admission letters issued by the college under Ref. No. SCP/2012-13, also show that their actual date of admission was 25/09/2012, but despite college clearance the MHRD did not release the scholarship.
