MENDHAR, May 17: The students of a private school along with staff held protest and blocked Mendhar Jammu road for about two hours here today.
Reports said that after a clash of the school bus driver of Public Higher Secondary School Mendhar with the driver of a tractor trolley on some petty issue on the road near school, the situation took ugly turn. The bus driver then came to the school and reported the matter to the staff. After this, the Principal of the School and some teachers rushed out and attacked tractor trolley driver. The members of other group also rushed and they had clash in which several persons on both sides were injured.
Later, the school staff and children boycotted classes and moved to the road and blocked Jammu-Mendhar road for about two hours. Later, SDPO Mendhar Shahid Nahim and SHO Anzir Mir moved to the site and they assured to take action in this regard. It is said that both the parties have lodged counter FIRs into the matter. Mohd Yunis, a retired teacher is said to be the Chairman/ Principal of the School. The police detained tractor driver while no arrest on the other side was reported.
