Such incidents not in interest of either side: India tells China on Leh episode

NEW DELHI: After taking a strong stand on Doklam in Sikkim sector, India today cautioned China over the PLA troops’ attempt to violate the LAC in Leh in Ladakh region, saying such incidents would not serve the interest of either of the countries.

In its first official reaction to the Chinese  troops entering the Indian territory along the banks of the Pangong lake in Leh on August 15, the Ministry of External Affairs said peace and tranquility on the border should be maintained.

“Such incidents are not in the interest of either side,” MEA spokesperson Raveesh Kumar said here while replying to a question at the weekly media briefing. (AGENCIES)
