JAMMU, July 2: Minister for Public Health Engineering, Irrigation & Flood Control, Choudhary Sukhnandan Kumar today assured augmentation of Water Supply Schemes and adequate water supply in Kathua district.
The Minister was addressing a public gathering after inspecting various water supply schemes in Kathua and its adjoining areas including village upper Barwal Uttri. He was accompanied by MLA Kathua Rajeev Jasrotia, Deputy Commissioner, Superintendent of Police Kathua, Chief Engineer PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control.
While addressing the gathering at Barwal, the Minister said that the Government is committed towards the overall development of the state, adding our priority is to complete the ongoing projects so that people get benefitted. He said upgradation of basic amenities like drinking water supply, power, sanitation and healthcare in rural areas is a top priority of the Government.
Ch Sukhnandan said that he was aware about the shortage of drinking water supply in Kathua and assured that all steps will be taken to overcome the problem. He said existing water supply schemes are being augmented and many new schemes are in pipeline to provide adequate potable water to the people of the district.
The Minister reiterated the commitment of the State Government to uplift the socio-economic condition of the people and put the State on development track.
