SAMBA, July 24: The residents of village Sumbli area of block Purmandal today staged a protest demonstration against the Jal Shakti Department for prevailing water crisis in their area at Main Chowk, Sumbli today.
The irate people of village Sumbli gathered at Main Chowk, Sumbli in block Purmandal under the leadership of Abdul Gani. They raised slogans against the Jal Shakti Department. They alleged that the residents of Ward No 2 area of Sumbli are without water for the last five days and they are facing a lot of trouble due to scarcity of water in this hot and humid Summer.
They said that many times they made several requests in front of the Executive Engineer of the Department but he made fake promises with them and the problem was not solved.
They further said that on the one side the people are already troubled due to the Corona epidemic but on the other side the Jal Shakti Department is increasing the problems of the people due to its failure to restore drinking water supply.
They warned the administration that if it failed to restore the water supply immediately they will be forced to come on roads anywhere any time in this context.
