JAMMU, Apr 29: All J&K Arm Wrestling Association conducted First J&K State Senior & Inter School Junior Arm Wrestling Championship 2017-18
( Men & Women) at SRML Higher Secondary School under the chairmanship of Kuldeep Singh, State President and Amit Dutta, General Secretary of the Association.
Sub Inspector of Jammu and Kashmir Police Department emerged winner in the senior category of the Championship.
It is pertinent to mention here, Sumit has the distinction of being freelance model, winning Mr Jammu title in 2001, besides winning Mr Mohali, Mr Punjab and Mr Pathankot titles.
About 150 girls of different schools and 200 boys of different schools of different age groups of Jammu province participated in the Championship, apart from good number of wrestlers.
Shaleen Kabra, Chairman, Special Tribunal J&K was the chief guest on the occasion, while Dushyant Sharma, SSP and Anil Chopra, District President, DCC, Jammu were the guests of honour on the occasion.
The other officials present on the occasion included Preet Dutta, Joint Secretary, Shweta Mattoo, Organising Secretary, Irvinder Kour, Advisor, Mohinder Sharma, Vice President, Ramesh Kumar, Dy. General Secretary, Sumeet Sharma, Joint Secretary, Jasmeet Singh, official, Sandeep Kumar, Sakshi Makroo and Rahul Kohli were the executive members of the Association who has made the championship a success.
Mr Dushyant Sharma, SSP in his speech advised the players to play positive and desist from consuming the intoxicating drugs.
Principal, SRML Higher Secondary School, Jammu was present on the occasion.
