RAJOURI, Dec 12: Sunderbani Cricket Club lifted the title of J&K Police T20 Cricket Tournament today by defeating J&K Police by eight wickets in District Police Lines ground Rajouri.
The nine days long tournament was organized by J&K Police with the objective of harnessing the talent of youth in sports, under Civic Action Programme. chief guest Danesh Rana, IPS, DIG Rajouri-Poonch Range, distributed prizes to Winners, Runners up, Man of the Match, Man of the Series and other participating players.
DIG Rajouri while speaking on the occasion said that J&K Police will leave no stone unturned to provide a platform to the youth of this State in sports and cultural activities by organizing different sports and cultural events.
SP Rajouri Mubassir Latifi in his address said that in the coming days J&K Police would organize more sports events in different parts of the district in Cricket, Badminton, Volleyball and Wrestling.
The final match between Sunderbani Cricket Club and J&K Police was witnessed by large number of public from Rajouri town and adjoining areas. 16 teams tried their luck and skills to wrest the honour. In the final match, J&K Police after winning the toss elected to bat first and put a total score of 113 runs on board in 17 overs.
Vivek has made 44 runs while Mickey took 4 wickets in 3.1 overs & gave only 5 runs. In reply, Sunderbani Cricket Club achieved the target in just 13 overs for the loss of 2 wickets only. Johny was the highest scorer who made 68 runs.
Mickey was declared man of the match while as Asif Ali of J&K Police was declared man of the series. Both the finalists were given trophies, medals and cash reward.
