JAMMU, Apr 3: Four wickets haul by Sunil and splendid half-century by Shakir helped Team Blue to thrash Josh Cricket Club (JCC) by 22 runs to qualify for the next stage of the ongoing 2nd Holy Cup T-20 Tournament, being organized under the chairmanship of Ankush Abrol, BCCI Member at Phalian Mandial, here.
JCC won the toss and elected to field first. Batting first, Team Blue scored a modest total of 162 for all out in 19.4 overs. Shakir was the top scorer with 52 runs off 42 balls, while Asif made 32 runs off 20 balls and Danish chipped in 31 runs off 25 balls.
Rinku was the pick of the bowlers for JCC, who scalped 3 wickets by conceding 27 runs in his 4 overs, while Nitin took 2 wickets by giving away 13 runs in his 3.4 overs and Arjun claimed 1 wicket by spending 25 runs in his 4 overs.
In reply, JCC gave befitting reply and tried to chase the target, but failed and bundled out at 140 runs for all out in 19.2 overs. Sanjay Chib scored 32 runs in 32 balls, while Rinku made 20 runs off 15 balls and Shubham Choudhary contributed 18 runs to the total.
For Team Blue side, Sunil bowled well and scalped four wickets by conceding 23 runs in his 4 overs, while Arshid took 2 wickets and Imtiyaz pocketed one wicket.
For his brilliant bowling display, Sunil was adjudged as man of the match.
The match was officiated by Virender Singh and Bablu, while the scorecard was maintained by Raj Kumar. The commentators were Sohan Bharti and Sunny Kumar.
The tournament is being organized by Sachin Singh, Mukesh Sharma and Sunil Kumar under the chairmanship of Ankush Abrol, BCCI Member.
