Sunil Sharma launches road projects worth Rs 5.65 cr

KISHTWAR: Minister of State for Transport, Revenue, Public Works, Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Sunil Kumar Sharma today inaugurated 35 mtr moterable bridge on Gulabgarh-Ligri Road which has been constructed at a cost of Rs 1.31 crore.

The Minister also laid foundation stone of two road projects being constructed in the district. The Kundal–Affani road project via Tata Paani, with estimated project cost of Rs 3 crore, will connect Tatapani, Hanswar, and Affani villages and the 3 kms Garh-Kukandrao road is being constructed with sanctioned cost of Rs 2.65 crore under NABARD funding.

The Minister also undertook an extensive tour of Padder Block in Kishtwar district to listen to the grievances of people and to redress them on spot.

During the tour, the Minister visited Atholi, Gulabgarh, Dhundi, Liee, Jaad, kundal, Karthie Kijjaie and other areas and held grievance redressal camps there. The locals put forth their concerns, problems to the Minister, including demand for road connectivity, new water supply schemes and smooth supply of electricity.

 The Minister taking note of the problems, gave on spot instructions to the concerned officers to resolve them on priority bases.

Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that government is making concerted efforts to augment rural connectivity and various projects have already been executed in the Padder, other areas of the district. He informed the people that many more projects are in pipe line for development of District Kishtwar.

During the day, the Minister also laid Foundation stone of View Point/Shelter Place at village Atholi.
