KISHTWAR, July 28: The Government has devised a comprehensive plan to upgrade existing roads and build new ones to provide better surface connectivity to the people, particularly those living in far-off areas of the State.
This was stated by Minister of State for Transport (Independent charge), Revenue, Public Works (Roads & Buildings), Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Sunil Sharma, after laying the foundation stone of Matti-Massu link road in Padder.
The 4-km long road link to be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 7.13 crore will benefit the inhabitants of Matti, Massu, Leondi and its adjoining areas. The construction work of the road link is being executed by PWD (R&B) division, Kishtwar.
The Minister appealed the people to cooperate with executing agency for early completion of the project, adding that the Government is committed to provide all basic amenities to them including power supply, water supply, healthcare, education, sanitation and better road connectivity.
Executive Engineer R&B Division, Kishtwar and other senior officers of the concerned departments accompanied the Minister.
