Sunpreet to lock horns with Ritvik in Junior Boys summit clash today

JAMMU, Dec 6: Sunpreet will lock horns with Ritvik in summit clash of Junior Boys category tomorrow, being organised during the ongoing 35th Jammu District Open Table Tennis Championship at MA Stadium.
Earlier, in the first semifinal match in Junior Boys’ category, Sunpreet beat Arnab by 3-1 sets. In the first set, Sunpreet registered win over Arnab by 11-9, whereas in the second set, Arnab bounced back and equalized the game by 11-9. In the third set Sunpreet thrashed Arnab by 11-5 and continued the pace of winning in the fourth set and trounced Arnab by 11-8 and registered berth in the final.
In the second semis, Ritvik crushed Manandeep by 3-1 set. In the first set, Ritvik trounced Manandeep by 11-9, whereas in the second set, Manandeep registered win by 11-9 and equalized the game. In the third set, Manandeep lost to Ritvik by 11-9 and in the fourth set, Ritvik trounced Manandeep by 12-10 and entered into the final.
In first quarterfinal, Sunpreet thrashed Ashank by 2-1 sets and the score remained 11-7, 7-11 and 11-8, whereas in the second quarterfinal, Arnab registered win over Ahiraj by 3-2 sets (12-10, 7-11, 12-10, 7-11 and 12-10). In the third quarterfinal, Ritvik Gupta crushed Asad Sharma by 2-1 sets and the score remained 11-2, 11-7, 11-8, whereas in fourth quarterfinal, Manandeep beat Divyam by 3-2 sets (11-7, 7-11, 11-7, 7-11, 11-9).
In Junior girls category, Shreya will take on Jhanvi in the finals tomorrow.  Earlier in the first semis, Shreya thrashed Apoorva by 3-1 sets and the score remained 11-9, 9-11, 11-7 and 11-8, whereas in the second semis, Jhanvi outclassed Survi Charak by straight 3-0 sets (11-1, 11-8, 11-4).
In sub junior summit clash, Manandeep Singh outplayed Arnab by straight 3-0 sets. In the first set, Manandeep thrashed Arnab by 12-10, whereas in the second set, Arnab tried best to bounce back but failed and lost the set by 17-15. In the third and final set, Manandeep against crushed Arnab with his attacking skills and won the set by 11-6 vis-à-vis title.
Earlier in the Sub Junior boys first semifinal, Manandeep beat Ketan Sharma by 3-1 sets and the score remained 9-11, 11-8, 11-9, 11-7, whereas in the second semis, Arnab thrashed Ritvik Gupta by straight 3-0 sets (11-9, 11-9, 12-10)
In Sub Junior boys quarterfinals, Ketan Sharma beat Abhay Koul by 3-0 sets (12-10, 11-9, 11-8), Mandeep thrashed Ritvik Mahajan by 3-2 sets (9-11, 9-11, 12-10, 12-10, 12-10), Ritvik Gupta defeated Anant by straight 3-0 sets and the score remained 11-6, 11-9, 12-10 and Arnab thrashed Ayush by 3-0 sets (11-6, 11-4, 11-5).
Meanwhile, Rajouri District Championship will also begin from tomorrow and around 70 entries have been received for the said championship.
