Sunrisers Kotli A lifts Mahore Tehsil Open Cricket Tournament title

UDHAMPUR, May 10: To promote sports in rural areas, Rashtriya Rifles in coordination with village level sports bodies conducted a Mahore Tehsil Open Cricket Tournament for the youth at village Sungri of Mahore tehsil.
Twenty two  teams from rural villages participated in the  10 day long tournament conducted with an aim of imbibing the spirit of sportsmanship and teamwork amongst the youth.
Sunrisers Kotli A team emerged victorious in the tournament defeating Lar Rangers by six wickets in the final match.
The competitive spirit, zeal and enthusiasm of the players to clinch title for their village poured onto the ground with spectators cheering for their teams. Experienced players in the region gave their coaching tips to enhance their skills in the sport.
The conduct of cricket tournament under project Sadbhavana received an overwhelming response from the locals.
Army has assured continued support on such goodwill project. The conduct of such rural sports event would strengthen the adventurous streak amongst the youth of the region.
The tournament was attended by officials from the Civil Administration, Army, veterans and the local populace.
Later, prizes were awarded to the winner and runner-up teams other than best player and best smasher of the tournament.
