Super-over win by Ahad Sultans over Surya Risers

JAMMU, Aug 30: In an exciting contest, Ahad Sultans defeated Surya Risers via Super-over to consolidate their position for play offs, while Kehwah Kings got better of TCI Cheetahs by 4 wickets in the ongoing Jammu and Kashmir Corporate Premier League (JKCPL) at Bijbehara and Srinagar in the Valley today.
In the first match, Ahad Sultans scripted a thrilling win over formidable side of Surya Risers via Super-over as the match tied when both teams scored 158 runs in the stipulated 20 overs.
Earlier, batting first, Surya Risers rode on magnificent knocks by Vikas Hatvala and Pranav Gupta to score 158 runs. Hatvala made brilliant 78 runs off 53 balls, while Pranav contributed 43 runs off 47 balls. Umar Mumtaz scalped 3 wickets, while Vishvajeet bagged 2 wickets for Ahad Sultans.
In reply, Ahad Sultans also scored 158 runs, with Ultaf (35, Mohsin (32) and Owais Burza contributing 14 runs to the total. For Surya Risers, Hatvala took 3 wickets, while Nitin Mehra claimed 2 wickets. In the super-over, Ahad Sultans scored 11 runs, while Surya Risers managed only 3 runs, thus lost the match by 8 runs. Hatvala was adjudged HDFC man of the match, while Mohsin got TCI maximum sixes award.
In another match, Kehwah Kings defeated TCI Cheetahs by 4 wickets. Put into bat, TCI Cheetahs scored 168 for the loss of 8 wickets in 20 overs. Imar Nazir was the top scorer with 57 runs, while Manik Gupta and Iqbal Shah contributed 21 and 18 runs to the total respectively. For Kehwah Kings, Sahil Shafi took 2 wickets, while Sakib and Arshid claimed one wicket each.
In reply, Kehwah Kings chased the target in 19.5 overs as Ishtiaq Rasool slammed a fabulous ton (101) in just 49 balls, while Jahangir scored 23 runs. For TCI Cheetahs, Imran Lone, Pawan Negi and Iqbal Shah bagged 2 wicket each. Ishtiaq Rasool was adjudged HDFC man of the match, while TCI maximum sixes award was also claimed by him.
