Surjit Club drubs Jagjeet Club via tie-breaker

BARAMULLA, Sept 20: Surjit Club Baramulla got better of Jagjeet Club by five goals to four (5-4) via tie-breaker in the inaugural match of the District Senior Annual Hockey Tournament, being organized by Hockey J&K and sponsored by J&K State Sports Council at Baramulla, here.
Earlier, after a (2-2) draw in the stipulated time, the match was decided in the tie-breaker, wherein Surjit Club prevailed over its rival by (5-4).
In the stipulated time, the goal scorers for Surjit Club were Jatinder Singh and Manjeet Singh in 35th and 67th minute of the match, while Jatinder Singh scored a goal through penalty corner for Jagjeet Club in 65th minute and there was a self-goal in the 19th minute.
The match was officiated by a panel of experts including Satinder Singh, Nauder Singh, Prajinder (Jr) and Harmeek Singh, while Ranbir Singh is the organizing secretary.
