Rajouri Deputy Commissioner Abhishek Sharma conducted the inspection at the assistant regional transport officer’s (ARTO) office and found some individuals inside official rooms, raising serious questions about unauthorised access to sensitive areas, the official said.
Additionally, he said a nearby computer shop was sealed after documents belonging to the ARTO office were recovered from its premises.
The deputy commissioner ordered instant initiation of disciplinary proceedings and detailed inquiry into the matter.
“The inquiry aims to identify lapses, if any, on the part of the office staff and the involvement of external parties in handling official documents.
“The administration is committed to ensuring that public offices maintain the highest standards of integrity and accountability. Any violation of these principles will not be tolerated, and strict action will be taken against those found guilty,” the deputy commissioner said.
He also emphasised the need for stricter protocols to prevent unauthorised access to government offices and documents in the future.
