JAMMU, Jan 22: Janipur police arrested a suspended cop, who had assaulted a lady shopkeeper in Lower Roop Nagar area.
As per police sources, a suspended cop identified as Dharminder Singh Bhau, a resident of Paloura had gone on a sweet shop at Lower Roop Nagar and had some argument with the lady owner namely Jyoti Devi, wife of Govind Ram, a resident of Sector 2, Lower Roop Nagar.
The cop assaulted the lady shopkeeper and escaped from the spot. The injured lady was shifted to GMCH Jammu, where after treatment she was discharged.
The lady lodged a written complaint in this regard with Police Station Janipur and a case under FIR Number 9/18 under Section 452, 427, 323 and 506 RPC was registered at Janipur Police Station and investigation started.
During the course of investigation, a team from Janipur Police Station led by SHO SI Bimal Indu under the supervision of DySP Headquarters Jammu Raj Paul Singh and SP City Dr Vinod Kumar arrested the suspended cop.
Further investigation into the case is going on.
