SVEEP review meeting held

UDHAMPUR, Mar 11: The Awareness Observer of Systematic Voter’s Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) programme, S.G Ragveendra, today visited Udhampur and reviewed the various programmes conducted for voter awareness in the district under the guidance of Yasha Mudgal, Deputy Commissioner Udhampur, who is also District Election Officer of Udhampur district.
While giving suggestions to make the voter’s awareness campaign more effective and to increase the voter percentage, Mr. Ragveendra said that emphasis should be given on organizing more programme to generate maximum awareness among the eligible voters.
The District Election Officer, Udhampur, Yasha Mudgal gave a detailed presentation about various activities being conducted in the district for awareness of youth about greater participation for a stronger democracy.
She said that number of awareness programme including seminar, symposium, debate, rallies, poster makings etc were also organized in this regard in various schools and colleges. She also spoke about special camps, NOTA awareness, women awareness programmes about their right to vote etc..
Special attention should be given on such polling centres where the voting percentage was less during the last General election, he added.
Review meeting was attended by ADC Vikas Sharma, Ravinder Kumar IAS Probationer, SSP Suleman Chowdary, ACR N S Jamwal, ACD Pawan Parihar, all district officers, Head of the institutions and all nodal officers of the district.
