SVO presents challan against ex-Manager SFC, others

JAMMU, Oct 11: State Vigilance Organization today presented challan against Ravinder Kumar Mishra, son of Sita Ram of Upper Lakshmi Nagar Sarwal, the then District Manager SFC Doda, Abdul Majid, son of Abdul Jabbar Khan of Doda, the then Supervisor SFC Doda, Pervaz Ahmed Ansari and Parvez Ahmed Saraf, private persons for sanctioning loan of Rs 1,89,000 for non-existing unit.
According to the Vigilance case, a joint surprise check was conducted into the allegation of fraudulent financing of non-existing units in tehsil Gandoh in the year 2000 by the State Financial Corporation, Doda.
Among such units financed by SFC Doda, one unit M/s Rather Photostat Gandoh was verified on ground. The verification in respect of this unit revealed that during the year 2000, Ravinder Kumar Mishra, the then District Manager SFC Doda and Majid Khan, the then Supervisor SFC Doda in league with Proprietor of supplier firm namely Parvez Ahmed Ansari and middleman Parvez Ahmed entered into a criminal conspiracy and in furtherance of the same dishonesty and fraudulently drew an amount of Rs 1.5 lakh from the State exchequer on account of financing of a non-existent unit.
It was found that in the year 2000 Mohd Elyas had applied for the loan to SFC Doda for installation of photostat machine in his unit. The applicant after completion of required formalities was provided a working capital of Rs 39,000 to meet the miscellaneous expenditure. The rest of the loan amount of Rs 1.5 lakh meant for purchase of equipment was found misappropriated by the accused servants in league with the supplier.
After completion of investigation, Vigilance presented challan against Ravinder Kumar Mishra, Abdul Majid, Pervaz Ahmed Ansari and Parvez Ahmed Saraf in the Court of Special Judge Anticorruption Jammu.
