SVS to open Professional College, old age homes

JAMMU, Aug 12: Samajik Vikas Sanasthan (SVS), J&K a social charitable organization has decided to open a Professional College at Jammu and a seasonal old age home, at Jammu and Srinagar.
This was stated at a joint press conference by patron of the organization Dr M K Razdan a NRI and a renowned Nephrologist, Kuldeep Raina chairman of the organization, M K Pandita its general secretary and Arvind Kaul Padroo, treasurer.
They said the SVS which functions in the form of a Trust also seeks assistance from the Government and Non-Governmental Organisations to help it in restoring the lost glory and in rehabilitating the displaced KP Community.
Dr Razdan said the SVK was formed in 2010 under his patronage and  Kuldeep Raina a social activist was elected its chairman.
He said since then the Trust is working for the welfare of the Kashmiri Community and society as a whole. It is wedded to rebuild the lost glory of Kashmiri Pandtis and restoration of their heritage.
Highlighting the  achievements of the Trust, he said the construction of Kriya Ghat at Muthi for performing last rites of dead by displaced Pandits as per their rituals, holding of free medical check up camps, providing assistance to orphanage Homes at Soura and Barnai, renovation of temples in Valley of Kashmir, construction of a Yatri Niwas and a toilet block at Pt. Peer Padshah Ali Kadal, Srinagar , renovation and fencing of  Shri Amrit Kund Pukhribal, Rainawari Srinagar with addition of 25 marlas of land to the temple complex of Shri Amrit Kund, demarcating and fencing of the land of  Gopinath Shrine at Nishat,  renovation and restoration of Shiv temple and holy Kund and Ganesha Temple, construction of  a hut at the same site are some major achievements of the Trust.
Besides, the Trust restored the three kanals of encroached land of Shiv Temple at Gopi Tirath, Nishat. It renovated the holy Kund at Vichar Nag  Shiv Temple, Soura,  removed the encroachments of three dharamshalas and four shops belonging to the Community at Vichar  Nag and also got  22 rooms renovated for the stay of yatris.
He said besides Nandkishur Asthapan, Sopore was also renovated by the Trust where a building is also being constructed by it soon. Moreover, Bramha Vishnu Mahesh temple at Bagvatpora Handwara was also renovated and fenced by the Trust, he added.
Dr Razdhan said SVS is also assisting monetarily as well as physically to many other shrines in Valley.
