JAMMU, Apr 14: Swabhiman Charitable Trust, NGO, has organized Day & Night Friendship Cricket Cup Series – 2015, in which 32 teams from Jammu are participating.
Vikram Malhotra, General Secretary, Jammu & Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC), who was the chief guest on this occasion, inaugurated the Series in the presence of a large number of prominent persons from various parts of life besides local residents and youths.
Speaking on the occasion, Vikram Malhotra said that he had earlier assured to carry forward his agenda of development and providing better amenities to the people of Jammu East and in order to involve more and more people in such activities, especially the young generation, several programmes have been made.
He said that like every year, this year too, the Swabhiman Charitable Trust has come up with a Cricket Tournament, which shall bring interest about sports among the new generation.
On this occasion, while referring to the recent political development in the State, especially in the Jammu region, the JKPCC General Secretary said that the people of Jammu have been befooled by certain political parties for their vested interests.
He alleged that Jammu is still facing discrimination as the PDP and BJP alliance Government ditched people by shifting setting up of AIIMS Hospital to Kashmir, which was earlier announced for Jammu.

As part of the opening ceremony, a match was played between Mubarak Mandi Seniors and Mubarak Mandi Juniors yesterday evening and on the second day today, a match was played between the teams of Panjtirthi Warriors and Tangewali Gali.
This Cricket Series would conclude with the final match to be played on May 15.
